Monotypes

My experience as a Japanese immigrant in the United States has convinced me that the deepest levels human feelings toward the beauty of living things are universal. My work focuses on creating images of this fragile beauty, often contrasting them with those of death.
The images are expressed through a vocabulary of organic forms that are evoked from deep within my unconscious.
In the 11 monotypes of this series water provides the contrast with the organic forms.
